A bad boy vibe and tasteful chic style, pop details and formal elegance: the Trussardi Jeans spring/summer 2016 collection distances itself from the standard unisex look and underlines the clear contrast between the men’s and women’s collections. The focus is on denim. A meticulous study of fabrics and washes transforms the raw material into sophisticated daywear that balances modernity and lightness. The women’s collection plays with shapes and lengths. Slim-fit denims are joined by unbleached linen and cotton items with new oversized floral prints inspired by murals and pop fruit. Dresses and cotton fleece sweatshirts are covered in shimmering iridescent sequins that look like fish scales. Denim shirts reveal unexpected details. The T-shirt segment features soft cotton tees with vibrant lettering. Military-look jackets and trousers are transformed with jeweled details and impeccable finishes, while long printed viscose skirts are worn with oversized knit cotton sweaters and crop tops. The color palette covers all shades of blue and includes romantic pastel hues and a few bright pops of color. The men’s wardrobe opts for more distinctive washes and treatments, alternating elegant outfits with items featuring destroyed effects. Leather is deliberately wrinkled to create a vintage look. Blazers and cardigans are worn with flowing separates. Denim in many varieties proudly shows off detailed finishes and colors. Cotton T-shirts have a rocker mood, with a pirate version of the greyhound in full view. The Trussardi logo becomes the leitmotif for micro-prints that trim and define black and white garments or items in subdued muddy hues. Reassuring shades of blue, green, and brown are combined with a black, white, and gray urban palette, while yellow, coral and turquoise are used for more vibrant touches. With the spring/summer 2016 collection, Trussardi Jeans presents its first accessories collection: faux leather bags, Saffiano leather totes, backpacks and footwear bring the collection full circle, completing it and revealing the stylistic and commercial evolution of the brand.
