Fall-Winter 23/34 collection on Versace Jeans Couture in Scandal stores

The Fall-Winter 2023 collection’s starting point is the print overloaded styles of BodyMap, the British alternate fashion label of the 1980s. Their innovative approach to garment structure and graphics, and DIY go-get-em approach, inspired a series of black and white printed styles with a look both severe and sexy.

Formal white shirts featuring allover chain and graffiti prints are finished with a bustier-like cut and fully cutout backs with ribbon fastenings. Romper skirts have flared volumes and are constructed from alternate print panels.

Men’s formal pinstripe shirts (that traditional uniform of the city banker) are subverted with graffiti, cutout block color panels, or a logo motif brazenly running through the stripes for a new disrespectful preppy style. The graffiti print covers washed denim pants, and features as a panel insert to strong, acid-colored kilts. Chain Couture is a swirling baroque print from the archive, here added as colorful patches to denim pants, or dominating across sweaters, shirts, and pants in dark plum and khaki colorways.

The Camo Star print is a riot of fuzzy graphic stars in multi tonal layers. The print fizzes over tops with body-conscious and confident mesh cutouts, fluid punky evening dresses, and men’s fleeces and heavy-duty coats. Biker-influenced styles like zip-up jersey tops and miniskirts, and matching men’s sweaters, keep to the collection’s DIY ethos through a mish-mash of graphic and block color panel constructions and tight ribbed finishes.

Graphic varsity-style tops and marble-effect band tees continue the collection’s play with body-conscious style, moving between extreme boxy proportions and styles with a sharp bustier-like fit.
